Duncan Louttit e.mailed me to ask my opinion on Adult 3D Micromouse and

effect on the recent schools micromouse competition .

I am retired , a neighbourhood engineer of 6 years standing , and I have

been involved with micromouse for 2 years at PRIMARY school level.

1. Availability of micromouse at higher levels are part of my

encouragement intro.

2. More details on internet would improve this for info. distribution

and promotion.

3. I tried to get a selection of previous designs from the IEE and

failed ........ this is a weakness as youger children ( and older !!!

engineers) need to

emulate initially .

4. Swallow kit is good but a wider range of designs would be helpfull

, particularly basic designs .

5. Detailed description of working logic would be very beneficial

paricularly if accompanied by range of component values / choice and

ordering sources .

6. Why not make the quality of freely available design part of main

competition to improve interest and enhance communication on

improvements (using the internet.)
